I know I'd love to see India as David, but when it's NZ against India, there's no denying NZ thoroughly deserves this tag. I do hope that in this battle of David and Goliath, Goliath triumphs. I know India did not put their best performance in the T20s, but I have hope that they'll be able to come out of their shells to put on a better display, especially with Sachin back in the setup.

The Old Legacy Still Stands
Well, looks like the sheen on the old legacy of Australian cricket still stands, even though there were 3 brand new faces added to the Australian team. I have to say I was pretty disappointed with SA's performance, but kudos to a clinical display from Ponting's men! I do hope though that Smith can get a better performance from his boys in the remaining two tests. Well, let's wait and see, its not too far away now...

Australia vs South Africa
Alright, today the battle of the titans begins! On the one hand, we have the current Number 1 country on the ICC rankings (Australia), which has been on a steady decline for the past year or so, and on the other hand, we have the Number 2 country (South Africa), which has a very solidly knit group of youngsters aspiring to be Number 1. It's going to be interesting to see if Smith's youngsters can overcome Ponting's (or rather Australia's) legacy!
A lot of people in the cricketing world will be watching this series with a very keen interest, because finally there is a sniff of chance that the mantle could be passed onto someone other than Australia, after a very very long time! I know who I will be rooting for, and I can see what most of the cricketing world will be rooting for as well. All I can say is: sit back and enjoy this dogfight...

Early Years
I don't really remember when exactly I got into cricket, but I do remember watching the 1996 World Cup. I believe that was the beginning of a wonderful journey into the world of cricket. The more I watched it, the more I felt alive. Everyone on the family knew that if there is a cricket match going on, I must be sitting in front of the TV watching it. Life was so good, my brother and I would get up at 2.00 in the morning to watch the Ashes - Test matches for five consecutive days, or nights rather!
My brother and I took a leaf put of the Ashes, and held our own Test matches in our alley, which was about 50m long, 1m wide, with little protrusions every few meters or so. We held test matches between Australia (that was mine), and South Africa (which was my brother's). In fact, we started with the exact sequence: Kirsten would open the batting with Hudson, whereas McGrath would open the bowling with Kasprowicz, with Shane Warne coming first change. I was probably a better Warnie than McGrath!
Oh, the number of windows we've broken! And the number of tennis balls on the roof of our upstairs neighbours, right next to the tank! I bet you'll still find some there today! We were going through a dozen balls a week, and that's being conservative! Our downstairs neighbours weren't spared either: They had their share of windows replaced! This sort of carnage went on for several years...

Intro
Well folks! I know there are probably hundreds of websites out there discussing cricket. I am no expert at this matter, but will provide my opinion once in a while here.
Now you might be wondering where the cricketer in me is coming from, having spent most of my life in Tanzania, Kenya and Canada. Now we all know how crazy (in a good way) people are in India when it comes to cricket. There is a saying: In India, cricket is a religion, and Sachin Tendulkar is God. I know I've never really lived in India, but I have to say that this saying is fully applicable to me! You will hear from me about Sachin more often than you'd like, because I really do worship him as my God!
Finally, I'd just like to emphasize that everything mentioned on this site is going to be MY opinion. Some people may agree, and some may not. You are more than welcome to debate these opinions. I'll try to post up links of matches going. I'll see how long this endeavour lasts. So with that, and taking Sachin's name, let's get started with this journey...
